the Zionists were the ones behind the attack on 9/11. Lastly, the author tells
about how locals in Kuwait are shooting our marines. Barbara Ehrenreich’s
purpose is to state her opinions on whom and what of the war in order to inform
readers about how she thinks the attack happened and who was behind it. This
work is significant because it shows the author’s opinion on who was behind the
9/11 attack and the possible enemies we could have in the countries that are
our current allies.

Martin Peretz argues that the attack on 9/11 was
more traumatizing to the American citizens than we thought. He claims that 9/11
was definitely not an accident and that most American’s would assume that the
attack was by Muslim extremists. Peretz develops this claim by first
acknowledging that there was an attack on the world trade center, then ponders
why it happened. Peretz accounts for when the attack happened that he was in
his hotel room. Lastly, the author tells the reader about how the citizens in
the area around the attack are helping each other and the local law
enforcement. Martin Peretz’ purpose is to inform the reader about his account
of 9/11 in order to remember the events of that day and tell his views on the
attack. This work is significant because it tells his view of the attack on
9/11 and talks about where he was and what he was doing when he first heard of
the attack.

Lauren B. O'Brien argues that the current terrorist
groups are getting far more organized than we anticipated as well as better
equipped. She claims that since the years of 9/11 and the beginning of the Iraq
War, the terrorist groups responsible have gotten far more advanced. O'Brien develops this claim by first exploring examples of how the terrorists work and
how they train and operate. O'Brien states that the terrorist groups have
become much more organized. Lastly, the author thinks that we should step up
our defenses against these ever changing enemies. Lauren B. O'Brien's purpose
is to inform the reader about the more advanced terrorist groups in order to
bring forth the seriousness of these groups and their capabilities. This work
is significant because it brings forth information about how advanced terrorist
groups and how they operate and train their members. This brings a lot of
insight on the dangers and abilities of the groups.
